| Independent Resident Adviser on Islington Council review of housing management |
| Open Communities has been appointed by the Residents' Panel to act as the Independent Resident Adviser on the Council's review of how council homes in Islington will be managed in the future. This is a two stage process. The first stage is all about finding out what residents think are the priorities for their housing services - a questionnaire is being sent to all 29,000 homes and Open Communities will carry out an independent analysis of the results. This is being supported by drop in sessions across the borough. The Council will then work up options which reflect residents' priorities and present these for further consultation during the second stage through discussion groups and an Islington wide residents' event. As the Independent Residents' Advisor, Open Communities will have a key role to play at all of these events. The Council plan to make a decision in November 2011. |
